Chris Walker
Investigator
Chris Walker is a retired police officer with 30.5 years of experience with Durham Regional Police Service.
Chris has extensive experience in complex investigations having served approximately half of her career in the Major Crime Unit, investigating physical and sexual assaults on children, sexual assaults on adults, human trafficking and assisting on numerous homicide investigations. For the last 3 years of her career Chris was a member of the Professional Standards Unit investigating complaints against police both criminal and internal. These complaints were for DRPS officers as well as other police services.
Chris has many years experience dealing with outside agencies such as SCAN (Suspected Child Abuse and Neglect Unit), OPIRD and SIU and various crown attorney offices.
Chris also has extensive educational experience, having facilitated recruit training for DRPS, facilitating for over 14 years at Durham College in various topics, with a strong focus on victims of crime, as well as for an independent company that is hired to teach a variety of law enforcement topics to a wide variety of agencies.
During her tenure with ISN Chris has conducted numerous workplace harassment and workplace sexual harassment investigations as well as SIU Criminal Case Review.
