Thomas Chypyha
Background Investigator
Thomas is currently a senior investigator employed with ISN’s Northern Ontario office. He is responsible for conducting investigations involving employment background screening, general investigations, and consulting for Collision Reconstruction.
Prior to joining ISN, Thomas gained over 32 years of law enforcement experience with the Timmins Police Service. Throughout his policing career, he worked in various units, including Traffic Services as a Collision Reconstructionist, the Criminal Investigations Section as an investigator, and served as a Sergeant in both the Uniform Patrol Section and the Traffic Services Section.
Thomas has received extensive training in Collision Investigation from the Ontario Police College, the Canadian Police College, and the Ontario Provincial Police. During his career, he investigated numerous personal injury and fatal injury collisions.
In addition, Thomas has undergone specialized training in Suspect Apprehension Pursuits, Major Case Management, Interviewing Techniques, and Strike Liaison. He also contributed to delivering in-service training for traffic-related driving offenses.
Outside of his professional work, Thomas enjoys running, cycling, weight training, and coaching hockey goalies.
